Disappointed With SWINBURNE SARAWAK!!!

Yesterday night I had received news that Swinburne Sarawak had forget to include the Contact Law for students who take major in accounting. This subject must taken by students who want to take CPA program after graduate their Bachelor. Due to the changes of program for next semester, I need to choose one minor and two electives, contact law is one of the subjects in the electives. My friend told me that contact law now becomes compulsory elective subject for accounting students. However, I had finished two elective subjects and I had no more extra choices to choose contact law.

This morning, my friend and I decide go to find the coordinator for Business degree program- Accounting. When we find the coordinator and we told her about our situation, she told us we only can choose the Commercial Law or Basic Marketing as our minor if we want finishes our degree within three year. We cannot choose other minor combinations like Finance, economics, human resource, leadership, applied marketing and organization behavior. If we choose this minor we need to extend our program for one semester. At first, I had chosen finance as my minor because I think among eight of the minors I most interested in finance. But now, my choice only left Commercial Law or Basic Marketing and the most important thing is this two minor is the minor that I not interested with and this two minor is the first minors that I abandon I when I making decision for choosing which minor.

This make me feel very angry with Swinburne because I think Swinburne should not force me to take the subjects or minor that I interested with. Why the wrong of Swinburne management need to ask me as student to endure??? Now I feel very antimony because I want to finish my Degree program within three year time which now only left one and half year but I don’t want to take the Commercial Law or Basic Marketing as my minor. If I don’t want take Commercial Law or Basic Marketing as my minor I need to extend one more semester and this will waste my time for taking one subject only for three month time and my graduation will extend one semester. Besides that, the plan that I do all now become rubbish due to the wrong of Swinburne management!!!!

Haiz….I think I need to do the decision faster because I will back to Sibu in this Sunday and I need hang up the study plan to my friend for helping me hang up to Swinburne before tomorrow night. I only left around one day form now for think whether want to choose which minor…… haiz…… God if can please show me the ways……

I think after this situation, I really feel disappointed with Swinburne. How can they do the changes for the program and subjects for students without making the research probably??? This will seriously affect the future of the students!!!! I think they only know to teach the students but they don’t know how to apply the thing that they teach in Swinburne….. I will not recommend my friend to take their degree in Swinburne!!!

Final Exam arrive soon

Final exam only left around 19 days and I still haven’t start my revision yet. I don’t know why I still don’t have any mood for study. I always have a plan to study in my mind however every time I don’t do it. I always find a reason that I need finish my assignment first but every time I do my assignment until half I go to play Facebook games, watch videos and others. God, please help me so that I will start my revision tonight or tomorrow.

Angry about something......

Just now I received a call from my sister, she told me today is her boyfriend aunty birthday and she cannot bring me to church tonight. She also says she forgot to tell me that today she is busy tonight. Actually, I think the case like this always happened but I really don’t know why every time I heard my sis told me she don’t want or cannot go to church I will feel angry and sometimes also disappointed. I will feel disappointed because sometimes she said she feel sleepy she don’t want to go and she only send me go to church. I only know that every time I know she don’t want to go to church; I always think an idea so that my sis will go to church. However, the idea that I think is not the best and every time I just give up the idea only. Every time when it happened, I only can do a thing which is felt angry at there. I always think why I always had this feeling. Is it due to I am too holy?? Or still got other reasons??? After I think for a long time this may be due to I really want to become a priest in future and this may be the omen form the god calling me to become the priest. I think may be some days when I really cannot bear, I may be use the idea that I had thought before. Now, I only can pray to god so that my sis will continue go to church for praise the god again and the fester idea that I think may not be use…….

Mooncake Celebration

Today afternoon, my housemates and I went to Ta Kiong supermarket to buy some foods for our Mooncake celebration. After we walk for a round in the supermarket, we decided to buy the Lamb shoulder, fried Chicken and soft drinks. After that, we went to UNOKA supermarket to buy the oil for fried the fried chicken. At around 6p.m, we start to cook all the food that we had bought this afternoon. Around 8p.m, we finish cook the all the food. We start to eat the foods that have been cooked. After we eat the food, we just notice that my housemate- Joseph had taken wrong fried chicken. At first we plan to buy original flavor fried chicken however he had taken the HOT AND SPICY FLAVOR. Tonight, we notice that all the foods that we eat are spicy or salty. After eating, one of my housemate had made the lantern by himself. The lantern that made by him really special. Then, we start to clean the things and then went back to own room for doing own things.

When I want to update my blog, I have found a thing that very funny. I just found out that the steak that my housemate cook is not steak is LAMB SHOULDER. How funny is it….. I had cheated by my housemate. No wander when I eat the steak it is very hard to chew the steak and at that time I feel why so weird. That all I think I want to share.

CPA Australia undergraduate Conference 2009

Today I joined an undergraduate business conference which organizes by CPA Australia and CPA Australia Student Charter (Swinburne Sarawak). The conference held at Lecture Theater in Swinburne University off Technology, Sarawak Campus. The conference started at around 9:15a.m. They started with the Welcoming address, Occasional address, Launching of conference presentation of momentous and photo taking session. After finished the opening ceremony, they continue with the talks.

The first talk was about entrepreneurship and how to face adversity and challenges with real-life experiences shared by CEO of Money Tree Asia Pacific Limited- Mr. Michael Reyes. The second talk was giving by Dr Edward Lim, FCPA also on “Challenge the Boundaries”. The last talk is giving by CPA Australia, Malaysia Division on the CPA Program and how it can help your career after graduation. The conference had ended at around 3p.m.

The talk that gives me most impression was the second talk. This is because the talk is asked us to challenge our own boundaries. The speaker always asked us what we want to do in next five or ten year. He also told us to start planning today so that we can achieve our dream in future. At that time, I started to think after ten year where am I? I will in office or in seminarian? This is because my ambition is to become a priest. Actually I think I already planning my future and now I may be started my planning already. As I know to become a priest, I need to finished my bachelor and I need to work for around three years before I can join the seminarian. My planning is I finish my Degree and try to get my CPA license or become CPA qualify Accountant. During the time that I try to get my CPA license I will also find a job in the audit firm or in big company. This is because I think I can learn more and can get more experiences. After I become the CPA qualify Accountant and have working experience around 3 to 5 years, I will go to seminarian to study so that I can become a priest.

That is my planning for my future. I really not sure whether I follow my plan in the future, but the only thing that I can sure that I will try my best to finish my degree course in Swinburne Sarawak in month of July 2011 and will find a job to work after I graduate form Swinburne Sarawak.

Idlot librarian in my university library

Few days ago, I received an email from my university librarian. The e-mail is about I have borrow 4 books from the library and one of the book will due date soon. At first I think they may be send wrong, however when I check my transaction at librarynet it is true that I had borrow the books. The transaction shows that I have borrow 3 books that relate to physics and one finance book. The finance book was borrowed by me but the three physics books were borrow by other students. At that time, I think I am business student why I need to borrow the engineering books. So, I quickly email the librarian and told I not borrow the three physics books. The next day, I received reply from the librarian and told me that they will make the record. After I see the mail I still worry because if the students not return the books I need to pay the money. Each of the book cost RM2xx. After thinking for a while, I decided went to the library and asked the librarian about it. They told me that they had made the mistake and they already make the record. They also show the record to me and told me that if the students do not return the books they won’t ask from me. They also apologize to me for their mistake. Until today, when I check the transaction at librarynet I see that 2 books have returned and now only one left one book. I hope the student that borrows the book will return as soon as possible and this case will not happen again or the librarian will not do this kind of idiot thing again.

Special Birthday Cake

Yesterday was one of my housemate Hubert Ang birthdays. We have bought a birthday cake for him. When we want to sing the birthday song to him together with birthday cake, he said he want to change the birthday candles to cigarettes. My housemate then changed the candles with Dunhill cigarettes. I think this is the most special birthday cake that I ever see in my life.

Amazing Start for Arsenal FC

Starting yesterday night the Barclays premier league started. In this season, Arsenal Football Club was the club that has lesser chance to get the champion compare to the main competitor which is Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool. Besides that, many people also said arsenal also cannot finish in top-four in the end of season. This is because Arsenal had sold the main striker Adebayor and main defender Kolo Toure to the Manchester city. At yesterday night arsenal had win the match by 6-1 to Everton. Arsenal captain Cesh Fabergas were the best player of the match because he had assist two times and goal two goals in the match. Furthermore, Denilson and Song had improvement in the match compare to their last season performance. I hope arsenal will maintain their performance until end of the season so that they can get a least one champion after 4 years. Below had some link for the news:

Fester Registration System

My new semester had started on Monday and in the first week of lecture we had been asked to register the tutorial class. The registration will started at the last half hour of the lecture class. The registration system really fester because everybody need to fight for their tutorial class that they had chosen before the lecture started. This system had been used since last semester. In this semester I really be disgusted with the registration system because in one lecture class got around 150 students or above however there are only got 4 or 5 tutorial groups and each tutorial groups only can have 25 students. Furthermore, the officer also misbehaviour to us. During the registration, I noticed that the available tutorial groups was full and they just told us that there is new tutorial group in last minutes. This had happened to me and I need to register the new tutorial group for 2 subjects and this makes me need to make changes in another 2 subjects, if not it will clash my other subjects. I hope Swinburne will change the system next semester so that the students not need fight for it and save more time.

New Semester(2nd year 1st semester)

After one month holiday, another new semester will start tomorrow. Tomorrow is my first semester for my second year. This mean that I only left around four semesters to graduate from Swinburne Sarawak Campus. I think the times really passed very fast because I had studies four semester (two years) which include foundation in Swinburne Sarawak. I hope with new semester everything will smooth and the past semester problems will not happened again.

Back to Hometown- SIBU

Today I will go back to my hometown- Sibu by using airplane. My flight is 10:30a.m however due to my sis busy so I need go to airport early. This means that I will have my 1 month holiday in Sibu. Actually I really miss my mum, my friends and everything in Sibu. However, most of my friends have goes to studies because the government university had started the study term. Besides that, my friend ask me more be careful because now a days the H1N1 case are increased everyday and most of them are come back from foreign countries by using the airplane. I hope that this will not happen to me because when the H1N1 patients come back to Sarawak they had stayed in the airport before. Finally, God Bless!!!^-^

Holiday in Kuching

Since my final exam finish on 19 June, I have around 11 days holiday in Kuching. I think this time is the longest time I stay in Kuching after my final exam. In previous semesters I only stay for around 1 or 2 days in Kuching. In this 11 days holiday, I think my life was quite interesting. This is because in the night of 19 June, my friends and I went to MyHouse Steamboat for steamboat. The next two days, I started my plan which went to church, watching movie and cleaning my room. In Monday, my friend asked me goes to Hartz Chicken for having farewell dinner. One of my friend-Timmy will went to Australia for continue his studies. In the next day, my housemate and I went to kenyalan for having our lunch and help my friend to duplicate the keys. On Wednesday, I only stay at home watching my movie that I have download during my final exam and I also clean the toilet and kitchen. Besides that, my friends also come to my house and they told me news that I think that is the most inflation news that I never heard in my life. The news was my new roommate had done a thing. He brings notes to examination hall during the Quantitative Analysis test. On the half way of test, he told the exam supervisor that he had brings notes. The exam supervisor checks whether it is true or not. The exam supervisor asked him continues to do the test and bring him to see the counselor after the exam.

On Thursday morning, I went to the post office for paying the water bill and I also help my new roommate to move his things from his old rent house to my house. On Friday and weekend, I only stay at home for continue watching my movie. On Friday my new roommate went to the Swinburne Court (University own court) and the result was he fail that subject and he need repeat the subject next semester. Yesterday night, my housemate asked me went out to The Spring for celebrating my housemate-Joseph birthday. we went to the Chicken Rice Shop at The Spring for dinner. Just now, my friend asks me out for dinner at Chicago 7. Lastly, my 11 days holiday in kuching really different with my holiday if I in Sibu which in Sibu I only go to work(part time), church or stay in home.

The first case for H1N1 in SARAWAK

Today morning, my housemate told me that he had seen news in the online newspaper. The news is about a Swinburne student from Kuching having been treated for H1N1. At first, I not really believe my house mate, I think he only kidding with me. Until I went to the bookshop to buy the newspaper, I saw the news and I believe it. Just now, when I check my Blackboard whether got any announcement for doing the enrolment for my next semester. I have seen Swinburne management posted an announcement which about the H1N1. According to the announcement posted, the student concerned was formerly from Swinburne Sarawak but transferred to Melbourne in year 2007. They also mentioned that the State Operation Room at Sarawak General Hospital that is handling the flu pandemic does not have any information to indicate that the student had been to the Sarawak Campus since his return. So any concern that the student had passed on the virus on campus can be safely ruled out. This means that the students in Swinburne Sarawak are safety. After I see this announcement, I fell lucky because if the student has goes to Swinburne then I may get the chance to be treating by the H1N1. This time I really need to thank the GOD!!! That all, I want to share in here.

Finish Final Exam!!!

Today I finished my final exam. During these two weeks, I spent much time for doing the revision. After I finished my final exam test today, my friends ask me how my test that I sat in this week. I told them that I can do it but I not sure the answer that I write will be accept by the lecturer or not. In here, I hope that the answer that I write can be received by the lecturer and I can pass all the subjects that I had take in this semester. Finally, God Bless!!!

CPA Talk & Networking Night 2009

Yesterday afternoon, my friend and I went to the CPA Talk which organized by the CPA Australia Student Charter (Swinburne Sarawak). The talk speaker is Mr Edwin Wong who is one of the officers of Kuala Lumpur’s CPA Malaysia Division headquarters. During the talk, he talking about CPA Career and told us how to join CPA Australia, why we need to join the CPA Australia and the benefit to join the CPA Australia.

At night, we join the Networking Night cum Installation dinner. The dinner start at 6:30p.m and the place are at Swinburne University Sarawak campus Auditorium. They also invited a special guest Dr. Edward Lim for sharing his experience and installation of new committee. The dinner only limited for 80 people only and this 80 people must be the members of CPAASC. The dinner started with speech and installation by Dr. Edward Lim follow by the ice-breaking game, dinner, experience sharing and prize giving for games. The most interesting part for me is the experience sharing by Dr. Edward Lim. He shares the word of DREAMS which consist of 6 steps that we need prepare for our interview in future. The word DREAMS refer to Dress, Responsiveness, Experience and Expectation, Attitude, Management of time and serve and lastly is Skill set. After the sharing they give the prize to the winner of the ice-breaking game and the dinner ended at 10:15p.m

Industrial trip to RTM, KUCHING

Today afternoon around 2:30p.m, my friends and I went to industrial trip to RTM, KUCHING. This trip is organized by the CPA Australia Student Charter (Swinburne Sarawak) and this trip is only for students who had joined the CPA Australia Student Charter (Swinburne Sarawak). It is free of charge but the places are limited. The committee use the first come first served basis for the members to register for the trip. Luckily, my friends and I got the change to visit the RTM. When we arrive there, we have been invited to a small meeting room for some explanation by the senior management worker. He brief about the way they work, place and some about the RTM station in Sarawak. After that, he asks his staff t bring all of us to the recording department for visiting. This is the first time I see how they recording the program for coming Gawai festival, how they work place and many others. After the visiting, we take picture in front of the main building and then we go back to our university. Due to my laptop Bluetooth got some problem, I can’t upload the pictures that I have taken this afternoon. I only can find the RTM logo in internet so I only upload it and the rest will upload after repair the bluetooth.

Mother's Day

This morning the church that I went had celebrated the mother day. In Malaysia, people will celebrate the mother day in the second Sunday of the May. This year is the second time that I not celebrate with my mum. This is because in this two I need study and I can’t go back to sibu. In this day, I will think that how my mum sacrifices everything for me from the day I born until today even until my old age. However, sometime I still not really appreciate what she had done for me and I still complaining here and there. Mum, for me you are the best mum in this world. I know sometime I not really heard your advice or do the thing that you don’t like. Anyways, in here I want to say happy mother's day to you and I love you so much.

MY OM Project Showcase

Just now I went to the OM tutorial class. At the tutorial class, we had a project showcase to do. According to the subject outline, we need work as a team. However, I got a leader who is really KNS!!! SHE only knows to speak everything but the thing she said she never do it!!! The thing that made me most angry is that she won’t accept any idea and everything we done she only know to complain here and there. Today, I also have faced a problem that let me really to think whether I really suitable to become a leader, assistant or treasurer and committee member for one club in future.

The problem is about printing the brochures, bookmarks and note books. Last Saturday, two of tutorial or group members and I go to printing shop to print the things. As I known the leader has assigned the printing job to one of the member who brings me to printing shop. However, during today tutorial other group members said we print too much and the cost is too high and many others. They always argue here and there and they waste one hour for discuss about it.

This problem had made me very disappointed with myself and let me start to think many things. The thing that I think during that time is am I suitable become the leader or holding any post again in my future. This is because I can say that I have many experiences in this part. This is because during my secondary time, I always become committee member or leader when altar server and legion Mary had organized any activity. Besides that, I had become the president or other position for many years no matter it is in school or church. Even my church senior or my Superior said I can become good leader in future because when the problem comes I always can solve it. It may be by the help of other friends at that time. However when today case they only know to said it or blame people, this may be make me ‘patah semangat’. I think from today I really need to think whether I suitable to hold any position again in future. After today case, I think I won't hold any position again in my future.

A Different Labour day!!!!

Today is the Labour Day. In Malaysia calendar today is public holiday and the most important thing is in this day most of the people not need go to work and students not need go to study. Today is the first time in my life that I need go to study, due to my lecturer can’t find another day for replacement. During this afternoon lecture, only around 20 people come for the lecture and the lecture still continue to teach and before the lecture finish he wish all of us have a happy holiday.

Unlucky Week!!!!!

This week I start my week 8 which this week also the first week after the semester breaks. In this week, there are few bad things happened. The first thing is the new tutor is really KNS, she really doesn’t know how to teach. During the tutorial class, other people make noise there she not care and when she teach she teach the common knowledge more than the knowledge that I suppose learn. The second thing is about my law test. After the law test, I think I only can score pass cause for me the test is hard. There is something that makes me very angry which is after the test I just know more than half of the students that take the test got the tips and according to them the questions that in law test paper are ALL same with the tips they get. The third thing is about my OM PROJECT SHOWCASE. My OM Project showcase Leader also KNS, I felt regret that last time choose she as our leader. She want everyone follow she idea only and other idea she don’t want to accept. Besides that, she only knows ask us to do the project but she do nothing. She also not attends most the extra meeting that organized by her with the poor reason which the reason is not feeling well or busy. Haiz…… why after the semester break for one week can so many unlucky cases happened??? The most I can’t believe is this week I only have three days class due to Friday is public holiday and Thursday I don’t have any class. This also means that everyday I face one unlucky case. I think that all that I want to share in here.

Mid-Term Break

From today I start my one week mid-term break. In the mid-term break, I think I can’t play too much cause after mid-term break I will have a test, need pass up two assginment and some homework. I think this is the most busy mid-term break for me from the day I start study in Swinburne until today. Usally the mid-term break is the holiday for me to relax and enjoy, however this semester mid-term break I got many things to do and I can’t enjoy too much. I will go back to my hometown-- SIBU this morning by using bus and I need to make final prepartion NOW and make sure all the things that I need will bring back . Finally, I hope all my friends will have nice mid-term break.

Unlucky day......

I think today is unluncky day for me. this is because my ladtop has some problems and when I send to ACER Center in kuching, the worker told me that may be my hardware had broken. She told me that they will test my ladtop for around 3 days first. If they confirm the hardware broken they will help me repair it and I have been told that I not need to paid due to my ladtop still in warranty. However, she also told me they need around 2 to 3 week to claim the warranty for the hardware. This mean that I can't USE my ladtop for WHOLE month. Besides that, I receive a news that my FIS lecturer and Tutor had changed. I really don't like the way Swinburne management do thing, how can they change the lecture and tutor at the half way. My former FIS lecturer and Tutor is very good, she help me a lot in my FIS subject. The new lecturer and tutor that swinburne arrange is not good compare to my former lecturer and Tutor. That all that I want to share....... Finally God Bless!!!

My second semester......

After honeymoon (holidays) for 3 months, I started my second semester of my bachelor program 3 week ago. This semester I take four subjects and the entire subject are very new to me. The subjects are Organization and Management, Business Information System, Law in Global Business and Financial Information System. After I attend the lecture and tutorial, I notice that only Organization and Management are easier than other three subjects. I think others three subjects are hard due to I don’t have much knowledge about the IT, the lecturer are come from foreign country and I don’t understand what he teach and lastly is may be due to the stress from the lecture and passing rate for this subject for past few semester are very low. Besides that, the Financial Information System also needs to use software called QuickBook. For me the software are not easy to use and the tutor that teach the QuickBook also come from foreign country. I hope that I won’t miss in the half ways for this three subjects and I can try my best to understand or try to catch up what the lecturer or tutor teach. That all, cause still more homework need to do especially for the Financial Information System.

Boring without Internet in own rented house

This few days I felt very boring due to no internet can used in my rented house. The reason is the TM point told me that they haven’t receive the notice from Telekom for activate the Streamyx line that my friends and I apply since last Wednesday. Last Wednesday, the house owner brings us to the TM point at the Padang Merdeka. First, the house owner wants to transfer the Streamyx line that he applies last time to us, so that we not need to pay too much registration and installation fee. However, after the worker in TM point checked, she told all of us that the line had been canceled since 21 November 2008. She also told all of us need to apply a new phone line and it need to wait a days for fix the line and a days for activate the phone line. After that, we only need to wait 24 hours and we can access to the internet. The Telekom contactor came to fixed the phone line on Thursday afternoon and in Friday afternoon the phone line can used already. However, we told the TM point that the phone can used already and can activated the Streamyx already, the worker in TM point told that they haven’t received the notice form Telekom and they can’t activate the Streamyx for us. They also told us that they will only activate the line after received the notice from Telekom and in they working days. So, for this few days we need walk to university for online. We expect that we can used the internet on Wednesday (11 march) next week. I hope it can use the line in next Wednesday so that I not walk to university just for online

Starting my Bachelor first year second semester

This Monday (2/3) morning, I started my new semester after I pass all my subjects in last semester. This semester Swinburne had started new system for students to register their tutorial time. For this few days, I need to register my tutorial at the lecture time. I think the new system are no good because during the register time, I saw many students fight to get their interested tutorial class and make the situation very messy. Luckily, all the tutorial class that I choose not many students want.....HAHA..... so I can get all the tutorial time that I want. I hope there were not any changes the the timetable or the tutorial time that I choose and I also hope next time Swinburne can choose a better ways for students to register the tutorial. That all cause I need go to attend to my lecture soon.

Happy Chinese New Year

Today is the first day of Chinese New Year. This morning my younger brother and I went to Church for joining thanksgiving mass which the mass started 8a.m. After mass, we also get "hong gan" and angpau. In here, I would like to wish all my friends HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR.

A unluncky Day......

This morning I went to Kuching by using bus. I arrive at bus station at around 9a.m. After 20 minutes, I still not see the bus arrive at bus station so I go to the counter for asking the reason. The counter girl told me that the bus is not running. I had been ask for change the time then I choose the next round bus which is 10:30a.m. At 10:30a.m I still not see the bus arrive at bus station. I went to the counter again and ask why the bus still not arrive? they told me may be due to some place had flood so the bus will arrive late. finally the bus arrive at 11a.m. on the way to kuching, I notice that my handphone suddenly switch off and I quickly check it. I found it can't switch on again. lastly, I arrived Kuching at 7p.m and at that time most of the shop had close and I need wait until tomorrow morning.
